Family Law & Mediation

Further to providing consultancy and supervision for the Leeds Cafcass Family Project, I am interested in making links with family law solicitors in either the East or North Riding of Yorkshire who might wish to develop a joint legal/psychological approach to family law, in particular regarding disputes where children are involved.

In my opinion, the interests of children should be central to all decisions that are made when a couple separate, and to do this, working together collaboratively and engaging in dialogue is preferable to traditional adversarial approaches that can polarise issues and create conflicts that are detrimental to the well-being of children.

A similar model has been used by the London firm Gregorian Emerson, and this article by Richard Gregorian sums up their approach.

Please contact me if you are interested.
